Ainslie
As a local boy born and bred in Fife I attended Bell Baxter High school, Cupar before I qualified from the Royal Dick Veterinary School in 1998.
After qualifying I worked for 2 years in a mixed practice in Wick. I then did locum work in practices in Wales, Derbyshire and Cumbria that treated farm animals, pets and horses.
Being from a farming back ground I am interested in the breeding of animals, including horses. I collect semen from stallions, do Artificial Insemination of mares, assist with foalings and with foal care.
In 2003 I decided to return to my home town to set up Eden Veterinary Practice. I am married to Alex who is also a vet. My hobbies are watching the Howe of Fife Rugby team and helping my brother on the farm especially breeding pedigree Simmental cattle.

I am originally for Hamilton and graduated from Edinburgh University with Pete and Ainslie in 1998 after completing a degree course in Biochemistry at Glasgow. I have worked in Kilbarchan, Kippen and mostly the Lanarkshire area. I have worked purely with equines since 2003 and in that time have been a partner and a clinical director responsible for the equine side of a large mixed practice which amongst many duties involved the clinical teaching of final year vet students in first opinion equine work. I was honoured to be nominated and a finalist of The Animal Health Trust equine vet of the year. I am a member of the British Equine Veterinary Association, British Veterinary Association and Association of Racecourse Veterinary surgeons having been part of the Veterinary team at Hamilton Park Racecourse for 15years. I have been a veterinary examiner for The Worshipful Company of Farriers since 2004 examining at Diploma and Higher levels. I am particularly interested in advanced dentistry, lameness investigations and remedial farriery. In my spare time I am an avid Formula 1 fan, walking and always looking for the next DIY project.

Valerie & Jura
I am originally from the south of Glasgow, I grew up with horses, sheep dogs and cats. I graduated from University of Glasgow and went straight into an equine internship at Lisadell Equine Hospital in Ireland, from there I saw a lot of foal medicine, general anaesthesia and race horse poor performance examinations. From there I did a second internship at the University of Edinburgh, aiming to improve my knowledge of equine internal medicine and intensive care.
After my internships did some locum work in a first opinion practice in North Island, New Zealand. I then returned to Edinburgh University first opinion practice for maternity cover in their first opinion practice.
In my spare time I enjoy adventuring up hills, either hiking or skiing. I still love horse riding, but not quiet as brave about it as I was when I was a youngster!

I graduated from Glasgow Vet school in 2008, my first job was in a busy equine practice in Lancashire where I developed interests in stud work and geriatric medicine. I moved back to Scotland in 2013 and was able to continue to expand my interests and develop new skills, particularly in equine dentistry. I joined Eden Vets in January 2022. I am always very patient and calm especially with nervous patients.
Outside of work I am kept busy with my two young daughters and my little dog Ralph
