Eden Veterinary Practice carries out all first opinion routine vet work for their equine patients. These services include our own vets providing a 24 hour emergency service for colics, foalings, wounds etc.

We offer routine health advice on request, for example regarding vaccination, worming products and strategies, plus general care. As part of our ongoing committment to our equine patients, we send out quarterly topical newsletters to all clents registered with horses. We offer prior to purchase and insurance examinations (2 or 5 stage vettings), plus microchips and passport completion.

Ainslie Smith MRCVS is now listed as able to carry out horse measuring, and can also arrange to certify the export of horses for tavelling abroad.

The vets perform dentistry including tooth rasping, as well as extractions. If a horse dislikes dental treatment, we are able to use a suitable gag, or if necessary use sedation drugs.

Foaling checks are offered every spring and summer, to check over the mare plus blood sample the foal. This tests for antibody levels, and if they are inadequate, can be supplemented as soon as possible.
