Eden Veterinary Practice carries out a range of fertility work to benefit farm clients. We can visit to do manual or ultrasound pregnancy diagnosis in cows. The benefit of ultrasound is that it can allow PDs to be done much earlier (from 6 weeks), and also helps to diagnose problems in non-cycling cows which allows for quicker treatment. |
| Ainslie Smith MRCVS can also do bull fertility checks, which are recommended 8 weeks before going to serve cows. It is easy to forget that the bull(s) account for 50% of your breeding herd, and a subfertile or infertile bull will have serious economic effects if not spotted prior to use. | |
